The challenge
Talkiatry was created to improve the experience of psychiatry for everyone involved, not only patients, but the mental health professionals delivering care, too.
The practice offers psychiatrists the stability of W2 employment and benefits, pay that reflects their experience, and greater work-life balance through dedicated administrative support. But the messaging wasn’t bringing those benefits together in a clear, differentiated story for prospective recruits.
The insight
Psychiatrists at different career stages bring different priorities to their search for a new role. A graduating resident may be looking for support and a strong start to their career; a more experienced clinician may be weighing autonomy, compensation, and work-life balance. The challenge was to speak to a wide range of needs without fragmenting the brand's story.
My approach
I developed an emotionally resonant brand narrative, then tailored top-level and supporting messages for four clinician audiences: graduating residents and fellows, early-career, mid-career, and veteran psychiatrists. The structure gave each audience a more relevant reason to consider Talkiatry while keeping the core story consistent.

BRAND NARRATIVE
By psychiatrists,
for psychiatrists
Psychiatry asks a lot of the people who practice it. Not just clinical expertise, but time, focus, and emotional energy. Too often, making an impact for patients comes at the expense of balance. And with gaps in support and a heavy administrative burden, delivering personalized care becomes harder than it should.
The field was designed around insurance reimbursement rates, volume, and administrative compliance rather than the clinicians delivering care. Talkiatry was founded by a psychiatrist who believed it could be different.
We’re a structured, clinician-led practice designed for the realities of modern outpatient psychiatry, with compensation that reflects what great care is worth. Our virtual model brings together what many psychiatrists are forced to choose between: autonomy and structure, independence and community, and meaningful work and financial stability.
Through dedicated administrative support, thoughtful systems, and technology that reduces friction, we give psychiatrists the space to focus on why they chose medicine: to help people heal.
Using this messaging foundation, I created:
80 recruitment campaign assets for, LinkedIn, Reddit, Indeed, and Doximity
SEM landing pages
Website pages for general clinical recruitment and residents and fellows
Sponsored emails with industry partners

The bigger picture
Over this period, Talkiatry’s clinical network grew from about 600 to more than 900 psychiatrists and PMHNPs. Many factors played a role, but a clear, consistent story gave every ad, site page, and conversation the same foundation to work from.
That story carried into the provider newsletter, which grew its audience 29% since launch. Each issue spoke in the voice psychiatrists had already met elsewhere.
It also made the work faster. With the narrative and audience needs agreed on upfront, each new piece of content started from an approved framework instead of a blank page.
